Public Transportation

There are several transit programs operated in Gaston, Cleveland, and Lincoln counties. The City of Gastonia operates a fixed-route system within Gastonia, while each of the three counties operate demand-response and deviated fixed-route services.

Gastonia Transit’s bus fleet consists of seven (7) 2004, 35-foot transit buses, three (3) demand response vans, and the only compressed natural gas (“CNG”) bus in the state of North Carolina. All units are air-conditioned and designed to accommodate our mobility impaired passengers. All buses pass through the Downtown Transfer Terminal, the Bradley Station. This allows for easy and quick transfers to be made. Gastonia Transit covers over 292,000 miles per year, providing service to over 325,000 passengers annually.
